Renovation of the ex CONI buildingFlorence

The project redefines the urban image of the building in relation to its historical context and landscape, defined by the avenue, through a reserved re-styling of the exterior facades combining respect for their chromatic and figurative characteristics with improved performance (thermal and acoustic insulation and technical efficiency).

Materials were chosen to be compatible in nature and colour with the surrounding Florentine architecture. The design also includes the landscaping of the exterior and the the removal of architectural barriers, eliminating the stairs at the front door and the and adding an entry ramp from the courtyard.

Abstract:
The client acquired the 1950’s office building in 2005 from CONI, its original owner. The building, completely abandoned was in a poor state, due to a lack of maintenance, vandalism and its occupation by squatters, (2006-2011).
